What Do I Do Tonight?
Use this page when things feel tense, urgent, or hard to sort through at home.
Start here before you react. These tools are designed to help you slow the moment down, choose your next step, and keep the focus on safety, connection, and follow-through.
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number now.
Tonight’s First Steps
- Pause before the next response. Take one breath. Lower your voice. Create a little space before you speak or act.
- Focus on safety first. Move away from yelling, threats, or physical escalation. Keep siblings and other family members out of the conflict when possible.
- Use one clear sentence. Say what you can do right now, not everything that needs to change.
- Return to the plan. Use your JADE next-steps plan if you have it nearby. If you do not, choose one small next step and write it down.
- Get support. Bring this situation to the next weekly support group or post a question in the parent community.
Parent Community
Ask a question, share a win, or get encouragement between support group meetings.
Weekly Support Group
